For E-Commerce Coordinators ·
What you'll accomplish
You'll use ChatGPT's custom instructions to act as your dedicated Amazon copywriter — rewriting underperforming listings with keyword-optimized titles, benefit-first bullet points, and conversion-focused descriptions. You'll cut listing rewrite time from 45 minutes to under 10 minutes per product.
What you'll need
You are an expert Amazon copywriter with 10 years of experience writing high-converting listings for physical product sellers. You understand Amazon's A9 algorithm, COSMO indexing, and buyer psychology.
When I give you a product, always write:
- A TITLE (under 200 characters, primary keyword near front, include size/color/key spec)
- 5 BULLET POINTS (start with benefit in caps, then explain the feature — each under 200 chars)
- A DESCRIPTION (300 words, conversational, story-driven, end with a CTA)
Rules:
- Never use exclamation marks in bullets
- Lead with customer benefit, not product feature
- Include the primary keyword naturally — don't keyword-stuff
- Use sentence case, not ALL CAPS except for bullet headers
What you should see: ChatGPT acknowledges the setup and is ready for your first product
Product: [Name]
Category: [e.g., Kitchen, Outdoor, Home]
Key features: [list 5-7 features]
Top keywords: [paste from Helium 10 or just your best guesses]
Current issues with existing listing: [optional — what's not converting]
Competing listings to beat: [optional — paste 1-2 competitor ASIN titles]
What you should see: A formatted response with TITLE:, BULLET POINTS (1-5):, and DESCRIPTION: sections
Troubleshooting: If bullets aren't benefit-first, prompt: "Rewrite bullet 3 to lead with the customer benefit, not the product specification."
What you should see: Revised sections only — ChatGPT edits while keeping the rest intact
New listing: "Create a complete Amazon listing for [product]. Features: [list]. Top keywords: [list]. Buyer: [describe]."
Listing audit: "Review this listing [paste listing] and identify 3 conversion problems, then rewrite it."
Bulk rewrite: "I have 10 products in the same category. Here are their current bullet points [paste]. Rewrite all 10 to be benefit-first while staying under 200 chars each."
Backend keywords: "Generate 200 characters of Amazon backend search terms for [product] not already appearing in the listing."
